Frequently Asked Questions
Can we fly to the islands instead of travelling by minibus and ferry? Yes. Whilst all holidays start in Inverness you are welcome, if you prefer, to fly to the islands instead. The main airline serving Scottish islands is www.flybe.com. Most islands have direct flights from Glasgow, and some have direct flights from Edinburgh, Inverness & Aberdeen as well. Just ask if you would like more information on flights.
Can you help with travel to and from Inverness? Yes, just let us know if you need assistance getting to and from the holiday start point in Inverness and we will help you arrange this.
Are meals provided? Yes, our holidays are all-inclusive and include all meals, including packed lunches. The only meal not provided is lunch on the final day when we are travelling back to Inverness - we generally stop at cafés for lunch on the return trip.
Can you cope with special diets (e.g. vegetarian, dairy free, gluten free, etc.)? Yes - but please let us know at the time of booking. Island restaurants and B&Bs are used to coping with a range of dietary needs.
Can you book accommodation in Inverness at the start / end of the holiday? Yes - let us know which nights you need and what type of accommodation you are looking for and we will book this for you.
Can we arrive early or stay on for a few days after the holiday? Yes. We are always happy to arrange extra nights accommodation for clients if wished.
Do we need to carry our luggage on the walks? No! On holidays where we move between different B&Bs all luggage is transported in our minibuses. When walking all you will need is a small day rucksack, large enough to carry your waterproofs and packed lunch.
