Recommended Kit
It is essential that you bring the
appropriate equipment with you on your walking holiday. The weather in the Hebrides
is famous for its unpredictability - it is not uncommon to experience strong
sunshine, ferocious gales and heavy showers all in the same week. Your
equipment needs to be up to this. Failure to bring the appropriate equipment
may endanger both yourself and the rest of the group and may result in you being unable to participate in some or all of the walks. Please see our terms and conditions for further information.
To prevent this happening, please make sure you bring the following equipment with you on your holiday:
Feel free to bring along other personal equipment if wished - just remember that the more you bring, the more you have to carry.
Finally, please remember to bring along plenty of spare clothing (especially socks).

- A day rucksack large enough to carry waterproofs, equipment and packed lunch.
- Good quality walking boots - please make sure our holiday is not the first time you have worn any new boots!
- Good quality waterproof jacket and trousers (both are essential).
- Warm fleeces or other suitable mid layer clothing.
- Warm hat and sun hat (optional).
- Gaiters (optional, but recommended).
- Suncream.
- Sunglasses.
- Walking poles (optional).
- Midge repellant (not usually required - they don't like the Hebridean wind! - but occasionally useful in the summer months in sheltered glens).
- Water bottle.
